FIVE people have been seriously injured in a road traffic accident which happened at Chito area in Serenje yesterday Involved in the accident was Anold Mwila of unknown age who was driving a Zongtong bus AIB 4083, property of Likili motors and unknown driver who was driving a Howo truck registration IT9578 from east to west direction.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in a statement that the accident happened when the driver of the truck was overtaking on a curve as aresult he collided whith the bus. She said the driver of the bus was left with serious injuries on the legs which are reported to be amputated.
“The following passengers sustained injuries as follows Kelly Sikaonga 39 of Chingola, Violet Kayanda, 45 of Masaiti, Joe Zulu, 23 of Ndola Fatima Ndalama, 19 of Ndola and Aaron Silungwe 41 of Nakonde. The injured are all admitted in Chitambo Mission Hospial,” she said. Mrs Katongo said the diver of the truck is on the run.
