Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A newly qualified graduate wasted no time celebrating her achievement, choosing instead to head straight to the hospital to see her mother, who had been unwell.
TikTok user Miss Bulawayo shared a touching moment in which she surprised her mother in hospital, using the visit to honour her and express her deep love and appreciation.
She explained that her mother had been unable to attend the graduation ceremony because she had been admitted for some time due to her medical condition.
Not wanting her mother to feel left out of such an important milestone, Bulawayo made sure to take the celebration to her, turning the hospital visit into a heartfelt moment they could share. The caption read:
“After the graduation, I ran to the hospital because my pillar didn’t see me in my gown.
“She did not manage to come for my graduation, but I had to honour the woman who fights my battles on her knees.”
Her mother appeared frail, but wearing the graduation gown and cap seemed to give her new strength as she shared in her daughter’s joy and pride.
She managed a gentle smile, clearly delighted by the surprise visit Bulawayo made to the hospital.
Bulawayo later shared a photo of her mother dressed in the graduation regalia on TikTok. The post quickly went viral, touching the hearts of many viewers.
Social media users were full of admiration for the gesture, with many leaving heartfelt messages after seeing her mother in the graduation gown.
In a separate but equally emotional story, a Kibabii University graduate honoured her late father by draping her graduation gown over his grave after completing her studies.
Wambui Karumeh visited her father’s resting place with her family and laid the gown there as a tribute, saying it was her way of appreciating his hard work and sacrifices in supporting the family and ensuring she received an education.
