ZETDC Warns Of Possible Service Disruptions During Migration

Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has advised customers of a major billing system migration scheduled to take place from Saturday, 27 December 2025, to Monday, 5 January 2026.

The upgrade is intended to improve service delivery and enhance system efficiency.

In a public notice, ZETDC said that during the migration, post-paid billing and new connection services will be offline for the entire period.

However, post-paid receipting services will remain available at all ZETDC banking halls and authorised payment channels.

Customers are encouraged to settle outstanding bills before or during the migration to ensure a smooth transition of account balances to the new system.

The prepaid vending system will generally remain operational, although users may experience disruptions between 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026.

Prepaid customers are advised to purchase enough electricity tokens by 30 December to cover their needs during the potential downtime.
