Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Scottland could climb to the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings when they host Manica Diamonds in a Matchday 29 fixture at Rufaro Stadium on Friday, 26 September.
The Harare-based side, currently on 53 points, will leapfrog log leaders Simba Bhora if they secure victory.
A win would take them to 56 points, one clear of Simba Bhora, whose clash with Triangle United has been postponed.
Simba Bhora’s fixture was rescheduled to allow the defending champions to focus on their CAF Champions League preliminary round, second leg tie against Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs at Somhlolo National Stadium.
Attention will then turn to Sunday’s headline fixture, the much-anticipated “Battle of Harare”, where CAPS United lock horns with city rivals Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium in a contest that could shape their Premier Soccer League survival.
CAPS United sit 13th on the log with 32 points, just three above Dynamos, who remain in the relegation zone.
A win for CAPS could see them climb as high as ninth depending on other results, while Dynamos could edge out of the drop zone with victory.
Saturday’s programme sees Bikita Minerals welcome FC Platinum at Gibbo Stadium, Yadah face TelOne at Heart Stadium, Ngezi Platinum Stars clash with Herentals College at Baobab Stadium, and Greenfuel host Chicken Inn at Greenfuel Arena.
On Sunday, Highlanders take on ZPC Kariba at Barbourfields Stadium, while already-relegated Kwekwe United meet MWOS at Ascot Stadium.
