Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A survey conducted by London-based researchers Sabi Strategy Group has concluded that Nelson Chamisa is the most popular Presidential candidate in Zimbabwe and is likely to win the 2023 elections.

Chamisa, who leads the recently-formed opposition Citizens Coalition for Change, will arguably be President Emmerson Mnangagwa‘s biggest challenger in the decisive poll, which will be held this year.

Ahead of the crucial election, Sabi conducted a ‘phone survey’ between 18 and 27 January, in which they had 15-minute questionnaires with 1000 registered voters.

The survey, which Sabi claims 75% of the 1000 registered voters confirmed they will vote, saw Chamisa winning with 53%, while Mnangagwa got 40%.

Other candidates shared the remaining 7%.

Self-exiled former Higher and Tertiary Education Minister Proffesor Jonathan Moyo rubished the survey and urged the Chamisa-led CCC not get excited because of it. He said on Twitter:

IT’S A FATAL DESPERATION to pin hopes on a phoney ‘PHONE SURVEY’ of ‘1,000 registered voters’ in Zim done from London by a group paid by Brenthurst Foundation, founded and funded by the meddlesome Oppenheimer family!

Who gave them 1,000 phone numbers of registered voters?

London’s allegedly independent ‘Sabi Strategy Group’ paid to do the phoney ‘PHONE SURVEY’, it fraudulently presented as ‘FIELDWORK’, as it smiled to the bank with dirty Oppenheimer money is in fact a partner of Brenthurst Foundation, and is thus not independentat all. Phoney!

The 2023 election will likely be held in the second half of the year.
