Chamisa, Mwonzora Agree To Work With ED – Zivhu

Africa-PressZimbabwe. Former ZANU PF legislator for Chivi South, Killer Zivhu has claimed that the leaders of opposition MDC-T and MDC Alliance, in that order, Douglas Mwonzora and Nelson Chamisa have agreed to work with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

He also said the move will compel the opposition parties to stop advocating for the imposition of sanctions on Zimbabwe. Posting on Twitter, Zivhu said:

I know kuti manga makamirira (I know you’re waiting for) news, Chamisa has finally agreed to work with ED. No more advocating for Sanctions with immediate(ly) effect. Mwonzora has agreed to work with ED, uye to apologise to Zimbabweans pakudaidza (lobbying for) Sanctions. Toti makorokoto (we say congratulations) to the people’s President ED.

He speaks when opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has since its formation in 1999 been accused of inviting sanctions on the Southern African country.

Western countries including the United Kingdom, the United States of America and the European Union imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe at the turn of the millennium over alleged gross violation of human rights.

The ZANU PF government denies the allegations saying the sanctions were triggered by the chaotic fast track land reform which saw many white farmers losing land to Africans.

Meanwhile, there has been a standoff between the ruling ZANU PF and the opposition, especially MDC Alliance, since the disputed 2018 election which the latter says was rigged in favour of Mnangagwa.

Dialogue between the two parties has so far failed to take off as each part is making demands viewed as outrageous by the other.

Zivhu’s claims, if they were true, would be gospel to Zimbabweans especially after some political analysts had argued that the impasse between the two parties had worsened the economic, humanitarian and political crises in the country.

Unfortunately, Zivhu who has no party after he was expelled from ZANU PF after calling for dialogue between Chamisa and Mnangagwa, is not an authoritative source.
