Africa Press-Nigeria:

Civil servants are reportedly planning to start crippling protests as they cite incapacitation and poor working conditions, the Daily News reports. This was revealed by Apex Council ‘s Charles Chinosengwa who is the body’s organising secretary in an interview with the publication when he said:

We have seen our colleagues in the health sector protesting and soon we are going to join them because our government is just not taking our plight seriously.

We have tried to engage them but there is nothing much coming from the meetings and we are saying protests are the best way to go because I think this is the only language the government listens to.

The government must stop its hide-and-seek game with us. People are suffering … up to now, we are still to receive the allowance and increment they promised us. Banks have complied, people have opened FCA accounts but it seems that the government is failing to fulfil its promises.

Prices are going up and the crisis is worsening. We want the government to act now because we are failing to feed our families. Civil servants are disgruntled and they are incapacitated
