Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Reward Kangai, a former chief executive officer of NetOne, a government-owned telecommunications company, says it is public knowledge that bigwigs are involved in most of the corruption cases that have affected Zimbabwe’s economy.
He made the remarks in response to a Pindula News article in which the chairperson of the Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission, Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo bemoaned the departure of skilled personnel from the commission.
Kangai said those leaving the anti-graft organisation are afraid of being victimised for targeting political elites. Said Kangai:
Flight of staff after receiving training, is a clear indication that it’s not well within the organization. They are afraid of falling victim to acting on high-profile corruption cases. How does @ZACConline expect whistleblowers to come forward when their own staff are scared?

In 2019, ZACC investigated him for possible abuse of office, allegations which stemmed from a forensic audit conducted in 2016 by the Auditor General.
