THE government has commended the private sector for the role they have played in the rehabilitation of COVID-19 centres in Bulawayo saying through team work the nation can conquer the Covid1-19 pandemic.

Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Minister Judith Ncube said during a handover of donations from How Mine at Ekusileni Bulawayo’s major isolation referral center this Saturday.

“I have always been saying that as long as we work as a team there is nothing that will fail us as a nation. if we are being faced by this pandemic, with all these resources we cannot fail provided we work as a family. This is a good gesture, can you keep it up, and there is a lot that needs to be done for us to safely say this hospital is open, ” she said.

How Mine installed electric boreholes and a water reservoir at the hospital.

How Mine Operations Manager Elton Gwatidzo said the company’s donation is part of their COVID-19 corporate social responsibility initiative in Matabeleland.

“We saw it befitting that we donate this borehole to the people of Bulawayo during challenging times like these. We are not only donating to Bulawayo but also setting up an isolation centre in Gwanda too. We hope this donation goes a long way in assisting our people that will be treated here,” said Gwatidzo.
