Former MDC senior member and former Deputy Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs in the inclusive government Mr Obert Gutu is regretting having played a part in calling for the illegal economic sanctions that were imposed on Zimbabwe by western countries almost two decades ago.

Posting on his Twitter account last night, Mr Gutu said he sincerely apologises to all patriotic Zimbabweans for being part of the opposition elements who urged the country’s erstwhile colonisers to impose the illegal embargo.

He regrets having unashamedly let down his motherland.

Calls have been growing louder for western nations to lift the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe to allow government’s developmental initiatives to bear fruit and better the lives of its citizenry.
