Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. HARARE, May.21, (NewsDayLive) – High-tech marketing agency, Handei Digital, has unveiled a nationwide initiative offering 24 000 local small-scale businesses a chance to win a complimentary, professionally designed website as part of its efforts to bridge the digital divide and spur local economic growth.
Through the programme, the marketing agency, founded by designer Tanaka Leroy Samukange, hopes to lower barriers to online entry for tradesmen, start-ups, and other micro enterprises.
To participate in the campaign, legally registered small businesses in the country will need to take a five -minute online survey on www.zimbabwe.handei.digital where all respondents are immediately placed into a monthly draw, with winners contacted on a rolling basis.
“We built this survey to truly listen to Zimbabwe’s entrepreneurs,” said Samukange, emphasising the importance of customised digital solutions.
“By tailoring each website to unique needs, we remove the guesswork and create new opportunities for businesses that might otherwise never afford a professional online presence.”
As Zimbabwe undergoes a digital renaissance fueled by surging mobile data use, expanding 5G networks, and the recent arrival of satellite internet services like Starlink, the transformative initiative has proven timely and transformative.
Although mobile internet penetration has seen a gradual rise over the years, many small businesses still lack a reliable online footprint due to high development costs and limited technical expertise.
According to Samukange, Handei Digital’s initiative directly addresses these obstacles as each of the 24 000 selected businesses will receive a conversion optimised website, one year of free support, and optional add-ons such as live-chat support and CRM integration, empowering businesses not just to go online but to thrive there.
“This is not just about giving away websites,” Samukange, added.
