Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A DAMOFALLS man has been sentenced to 15 years in jail on charges of raping a sex worker.
The convict, Nyasha Ngwenya, was found guilty on two counts of rape when he appeared before Harare magistrate Francis Mapfumo.
Prosecutor Sherlyn Sadomba told the court that in May this year, Ngwenya approached the complainant at Jongwe Corner seeking her services for the night for US$14.
The court heard that the victim agreed to render her services.
Along the way, Ngwenya produced an electrical shocker and threatened to kill the sex worker before dragging her to a maize field where he raped her once.
On May 23, the convict used the same modus operandi to lure the victim and rape her.
Court documents State that the victim met Ngwenya at Jongwe Corner seeking the services of another sex worker and reported to the police, leading to his arrest.
