Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Harare City Council (HCC) has advised residents that the local government authority has resumed pumping water from Morton Jaffray Waterworks after it had been shut down last week over “unprecedented chemical supply challenges.”
To reduce the deficit, Harare commenced water production at Prince Edward Waterworks on 5 Aug 2022 in the afternoon. In a recent notice, the city fathers said some suburbs were already receiving water. Reads the notice:
Dear residents
Please note that water treatment chemicals have started trickling in and there is minimum pumping at Morton Jaffray while Prince Edward is pumping.
Most of the Western, and Northwestern areas are now receiving water. The Central Business District will receive minimum supplies
Residents who are receiving water are advised to use water sparingly as full production is yet to commence.
