Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. TOURISM minister Barbara Rwodzi has commended Christ Embassy’s efforts in promoting spiritual healing and national unity, while emphasising the crucial role played by the church in the success of Zimbabwe.
Rwodzi said this on Saturday, while officiating at the Healing Streams Carnival at Christ Embassy Belvedere Church, where she praised the church’s efforts in promoting spiritual healing and national unity.
She acknowledged government’s limitations in addressing the nation’s challenges without the church’s support.
“The government cannot do everything on its own. You are stakeholders in our nation and the part you play is very pertinent and key.
The Tourism minister added that behind the scenes, politicians recognised the importance of faith in achieving their goals, revealing that President Emmerson Mnangagwa incorporated prayer and biblical references in Cabinet meetings.
Rwodzi also highlighted her ministry’s adoption of a soft diplomacy approach to improve foreign relations and attract investment.
“Through cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy, Zimbabwe aims to showcase its unique attractions and promote national heritage. Gastronomy tourism, inspired by First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s traditional food programme, is a key aspect of this strategy,” she added.
“Since last year, we’ve successfully implemented soft diplomacy efforts, even in countries that have imposed sanctions on us.
“The ministry’s initiatives aim to foster goodwill, promote Zimbabwean culture and drive economic growth through tourism.”
The minister’s sentiments were expressed on the eve of Pastor Chris’ international healing crusade, scheduled for July 18 to 20.
Christ Embassy Church leader in Zimbabwe Ruth Musarurwa invited Zimbabweans to come and receive healing at the various Healing Streams live healing centres spread across the country.
