HEALTH professional councils have been challenged to preserve the integrity of the country’s health delivery system by shaping the right attitudes and practices.
Speaking at the Inauguration of the health professional councils, Vice President Retired General Dr Constantino Chiwenga who is also the Minister of Health and Child Care appealed to the councils to work with government in improving the country’s health delivery system.
“You should never lose sight of the fact that strengthening the health system is fundamental to our national vision’s desired end state of an upper middle economy and an empowered society by 2030,” he said.
The seven councils inaugurated this Monday include the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe, Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe, Natural Therapists Council of Zimbabwe, Nurses Pharmacists Council of Zimbabwe, Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientists Council of Zimbabwe, Environmental Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe and Medical Rehabilitation Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe.
