Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. President Masoud Pezeshkian underscored the importance of maintaining and enhancing the relationship between Iran and Zimbabwe, stating that this friendly rapport lays the groundwork for expanding their cooperation on an international scale.
Iran-Zimbabwe friendly ties facilitate cooperation at international level: Pezeshkian
Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with Zimbabwean Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga on the sidelines of the Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Conference in Tehran on Sunday.
Emphasizing the necessity of preserving amicable ties based on mutual respect, the president noted that these friendly relations provide a solid foundation for increased international collaboration between the two countries.
The Iranian president also addressed the crimes of the Zionist regime, asserting that both Islamic and non-Muslim nations must unite to counteract the regime’s illegal actions and foster an environment conducive to peace and stability within the framework of international law.
Both sides expressed deep concern over the deplorable human rights situation in Palestine, calling for the mobilization of international resources to support the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, while condemning the support of certain totalitarian states for the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime.
In response, Chiwenga conveyed warm greetings from President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa to President Pezeshkian, advocating for the utilization of regional African organizations, such as the Southern African Development Community and the African Union, to enhance economic and trade cooperation with Iran.
The African official highlighted the friendship between Iran and Zimbabwe, expressing his country’s eagerness to strengthen ties with the Islamic Republic in the fields of science, technology, and agriculture.
