Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The current tensions between Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran aren’t a phenomena born in the year 2025. Israel as a state has been war mongering since its establishment in 1948. To prove this, Israel has been involved in a series of wars and conflicts to push its desire to be a regional super power but is applying sinister means that are even inconsiderate of the importance of human life just to achieve that imperialistic agenda.
The support it gets from America is making Israel to ignorantly and irrationally disregard both regional and international agreements as well as losing its instinct of humaneness.
It must be said that Iran is the first country that has dared to attack Israel and American bases in the Middle East in self defense which is a plausible reason to attack.Tensions escalated between Iran and America in 2019 and the escalation was characterized by attacks on American oil vessels and the downing of a spy drone that the USA assumed sophisticated which shows the strength in Iran’s technological muscle.A mind blogging rocket attack was made by the Iranian on the American K-1 Air force Base in Iraq.
Iran is the only country that has directly and successfully retaliated against an American attack by also bombing its bases or interests which has now happened twice, in December 2019 and most recently during the 12 day war of 2025. This shows the brevity and staunch determination of Iranians to preserve their sovereignty in the face of alien aggression.
To solidify the Iranian claim that it’s not provocative and war mongering ,it is Israel that initially bombarded Iran and its Israel’s intelligence unit Mossad that has assassinated countless Iranian nuclear scientists over the years.
Israel believes Zionism should override any other ideology and that the semitic race is divinely chosen therefore should become a regional giant yet preparing its way to be a global giant. The support that is imperative and imminent for Palestine right now will shift to another country meaning a collective international effort is needed to curb Israel’s aggression.
For instance, Israel is snatching the Golan Heights of Syria without shame, the Gaza strip as if it is without blame and next will be other places we are yet to name. When a bully is bullying one person the onlookers often turn a blind eye until they themselves are subjected to the same fate but if the unoppressed stand with those in oppression the power of the bully is diminished. Surprisingly Israel and the USA are bullying the Middle East with onlookers seemingly ignorant that they might be next in line.
Iran believes in the fundamental freedom of men and the democratically accepted doctrine of equality of all men which therefore threatens the Zionist agenda. Obliteration of Iran is Israel’s dream yet oppositely the ideological salvation of Zionism to become humanitarian is Iran’s religious and sociopolitical aim.
Israel has been the aggressor ever since and has of late been engaged in wars with its neighboring countries claiming to uproot groups they claim are aligned to Iran.The Supreme Leader of Iran reiterated that the groups that Israel claims to be proxies of Iran are self motivated freedom fighters who have real eyes that have realised the real lies that Israel showcases to the world in pretence of innocence.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in his 2021 hajj speech said: “The American propaganda effort to distort the will, demands and actions of the brave youth and forces of resistance in Syria, Lebanon and other countries and to ascribe them to Iran or any other reference point is an insult to those valiant, vigilant youth. And this stems from America’s deep ignorance about regional nations.”
In a way of trying to outsmart the world from visualizing the trauma that Israel and America have caused in the Middle East they point at patriotic fighters of their own national sovereignty as supposedly proxies of Iran.
As Africans we aren’t fooled by such false claims because the Mugabes, the Mandelas, the Kaundas and the Nyereres of our continent were once labelled terrorists yet they were truthfully the heroes of our Independence. As of now the Hamas, the Houthi, the Hezbollah are in the same fate of being labelled terrorists yet they are the patriotic liberators and guardians of their sovereignty.
Mugabe differs from Imam Khomeini because his politics didn’t stand on a religious foundation but both are freedom fighters just as Mandela is non-comparable to Sayyed Khamenei, all four are truthfully freedom fighters falsely accused of practising politics of destabilization.
With boldness and standing by one’s word, Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump are both anomalists also the real terrorists taking advantage of having leverage on global institutions like the International Criminal Court and United Nations which hypocritically pretend to be blind to their war crimes, crimes against humanity and terrorism.
Just taking a glimpse at the wars that Israel has been involved in since its establishment in 1948 can clearly reveal its involvement in constant wars of invasion not of defense. The state has fought almost every country within its proximity.
Unjustified shouts of anti-semitism are their only avenue for immunity from the crimes against humanity they commit on a daily basis. Germany supported Israel’s attack on Iran as if the blood of Iranians should appease the millions of Jews killed by the Nazi regime. That support is a token of appeasement regardless of the clandestinity and obscurantism of Israel’s agenda.
Military aggression, forced displacement, human imposed famine, unjustified imprisonment of civilians has been the perennial plight of Palestinians since 1948 with certain times of full fledged war like the ongoing genocide since October 2023, the First Intifada of 1987-1993, the Second Intifada 2000-2005 and the list goes on. After all of these wars, Israeli politicians still claim innocence, how on earth can one be innocent with so much blood on their hands?
Israel started the 12 days war with Iran because it made the initial attack. Why is it not facing the wrath of the ICC when there is vast evidence of its guilt? Why are the real terrorists hovering around freely as if their terror isn’t considered an offence? Why were additional sanctions imposed against Iran though it was the victim of Israel’s aggression? Why is it that besides the clarity of the genocide of Palestinians, Netanyahu and his government are sanction free?
If the world still believes and adheres to international law, this is the one instance that demands enforcement of international law.
