Joseph Joe Guti Consecrated As New ZAOGA Archbishop

Joseph Joe Guti has been officially appointed the new Archbishop of the Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA), taking over from the church’s founder, Ezekiel Guti, who passed away in 2023.

Guti, who served as the church’s Presiding Bishop, was consecrated during a ceremony at the Africa Multination for Christ College (AMFIC) in Harare on Sunday, 25 January. The service was led by senior Archbishop Eunor Guti, with two Archbishops from South Africa and Mozambique in attendance.

During the ceremony, Secretary General Apostle Mishael Nyambo was promoted to Bishop, while his deputy, Apostle Stephen Simukai, was also elevated to the rank of Bishop.

In an interview with ZBC News, Bishop Nyambo pledged that the church would continue to support and work with the government in national development. He said:

“We are still continuing and nothing is stopping Dr Guti was not doing it alone. He trained us how to do it and he showed us.

“As I am speaking we just finished a another University which is a a satellite to one in Bindura.

“Schools are being still built and if you go to Mbuya Dorcas Hospitals today we have upgraded. We have also buit diabetic pharmacy there to cater for patients.

“We have also introduced four more schools. With our new leader who has been instrumental in developing schools with Dr Guti, the sky is the limit.”

The event took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Deeper Life Conference, attended by pastors from all 177 countries where ZAOGA has a presence.
