A FILABUSI man, who was part of a seven men gang that attacked a Filabusi based businessman armed with four pistols and got away with US$19 000, R72, 000, RTGS$14 000 and electrical gadgets worth $10 000, has been jailed 10 years.
Chargeman Ndlovu (23) was convicted on his own plea of guilty to armed robbery when he appeared before Gwanda regional magistrate, Mr Mark Dzira.
He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and two years were suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar offence within the next five years.
He will serve an effective eight-year jail term.
Ndlovu’s four other accomplices pleaded not guilty to the charge and were remanded in custody to February 24 for continuation of trial while two others are still at large.
