Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Harare High Court judge, Justice Tawanda Chitapi, has further deferred to next Thursday a ruling on a matter brought to the court by the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum on behalf of Chamunorwa Chingwe.
Chingwe dragged President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Minister of Justice, Parliamentary and Legal Affairs Ziyambi Ziyambi and the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) before the court, seeking to bar the three from appointing Supreme Court judges without following provisions of the Constitution requiring the declaration of vacancies and advertising as it is possible to appoint lawyers who are currently not judges to the Supreme Court.
