Dynamos Football Club have officially confirmed the return of former head coach Genesis Mangombe, who has rejoined the Glamour Boys on a two-year contract.
In a statement released on 30 January 2026, the club announced that Mangombe’s appointment as Head Coach takes immediate effect.
Mangombe, who left Triangle United at the end of the 2025 PSL season, will work alongside Newsome Mutema (First Assistant), Britto Gwere (Goalkeepers’ Coach), and Thulani Munzwamba (Fitness Coach) to oversee first-team matters. Ronald “Gidiza” Sibanda will continue in his role as Team Manager. The statement reads:
“Genesis is still finalising the composition of his backroom staff, and an announcement will be made once he completes the process.
“This will be Genesis’ second stint at the Glamour Boys after he previously served as an assistant to Herbert Maruwa during the 2023 season.
“Following Maruwa’s departure in August 2023, Genesis stepped into the Head Coach position and led the club to its first Chibuku Super Cup title and a credible third-place finish in the league that season.
“After leaving Dynamos in August 2024, he went on to have stints with Scottland FC, Tabora United (Tanzania) and Triangle United.”
Mangombe led Scottland to the ZIFA Division One Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) title, helping the club secure promotion to the Premier Soccer League for the first time in its history.
Dynamos chairman Vincent Chawonza pledged that the club’s executive would provide Mangombe with all the support he needs to make Dynamos great again. He said:
“I would like to welcome Coach Genesis to the biggest club in the land. I have no doubt that with his capabilities, having worked with him back in 2023, his style of play is very commendable.
“As we rebuild our club after a 2025 season, which we want to quickly forget because of many reasons, one of them being staving off relegation.
“I wish Coach Genesis well in his new role, and I also promise him that we will give him all the support he needs.
“We are going to create a conducive environment for him to succeed. I wish you well, and the entire executive is behind you.”
