MDC-A Appoints Khupe’s And Mguni’s Replacements

Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The opposition Movement for Democratic Change Alliance (MDC-A) led by Senator Douglas Mwonora has appointed two members to replace Thokozani Khupe and Nomvula Mguni who were recalled by the party. The appointed are Ndebele Visitor and Nyika Florence. In a notice seen by Pindula News, Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) chair, Justice Priscilla Chigumba said their appointment was with effect from the 19th of July when the notice was published. Reads the notice:

IT is hereby notified, in terms of section 39(7Xa) of the Electoral Act [Chapter 2:13j, that Ndebele Visitor and Nyika Florence, registered voters of Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, who were nominated by the Movement for Democratic Change Alliance (MDC-A) party to fill the vacancies in the National Assembly that occurred following the recall of Honourable Thokozani Khupe and Honourable Nomvula Mguni have been appointed as members of the National Assembly for Bulawayo Province by virtue of section 124(1)(b) of the Constitution with effect from the date of publication of this notice.
