A MENTAL patient has been arrested for allegedly killing an elderly Madziwa woman, whose remains were found in a maize field in Madziwa on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Maude Munetsi aged 63 of Charamba village, Madziwa in Mashonaland Central province.
Zimbabwe Republic Police national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“Police in Madziva are investigating circumstances surrounding a case of murder in which, Maude Munetsi (63) was found dead, with head injuries, in a maize field at Charamba Village, Madziwa on May 26, 2023,” said Nyathi.
“Police have since arrested a suspected mental patient, Tendayi Endby Nyamupfukudza (51), in connection with the case.”
