Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. MUREWA West legislator Farai Jere on Friday donated 50 bags of cement to three schools in Murewa’s ward 11, a move meant to assist in completing unfinished buildings in the constituency.
The donation was delivered during a Zanu PF thank you rally held at Zvevatsunga business centre.
Jere is holding thank you rallies in the wards in his constituency after he was elected into Parliament in the August 2023 harmonised elections.
Addressing Zanu PF supporters during the event, Jere said he would fulfil his election promise to ensure most schools in the constituency have enough and modern buildings.
The schools that benefited from the cement include Gezi Primary School, Shamu Primary School and Shamu Secondary School.
“I have brought a truckload of cement to benefit schools in ward 11. Twenty-five bags of the cement will be offloaded at Gezi, while 15 bags will be channelled towards plastering of a block at Shamu Primary School, and the remainder will go towards construction of a toilet at Shamu Secondary School,” he said.
“We are here for development and we are progressing well in this constituency. I am now focusing on ensuring that rural business centres without electricity get connected.”
Jere in 2023 paid school fees for all the learners in Murewa West constituency.
