COUNCIL by-elections for Ward 15 in Mwenezi are currently underway with two candidates, Samuel Kwinika of Zanu PF and Shepherd Dzuda of the MDC battling it out for the seat.
The Ward 15 seat fell vacant following the death of Zanu PF Councillor, Edson Chauke in November last year.
ZBC caught up with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Wards Elections Officer for Mwenezi, Charles Daswa who said the election process has been going on smoothly since the polling stations opened at 7:00 am.
The polls are expected to close at 7 pm with results expected in the early hours of Sunday.
