Mwonzora says extraordinary congress plans

RECENTLY reinstated MDC-T secretary general, Senator Douglas Mwonzora says preparations for the extra ordinary congress have gathered steam and has blasted University of Zimbabwe lecturer, Pedzisai Ruhanya for lacking stable reasoning.

Speaking to Zimbabwe Voice Saturday, Mwonzora said only the court order will dictate the fate which he is currently following.

“Let me assure you that in my capacity as secretary general of the party, I have already begun to prepare for the extra-ordinary congress as directed by the court ruling.

“Plans are flowing smoothly and we hope to hit the deadlines because the ruling is just clear and final,” he said.

Quizzed on allegations levelled by political analyst, Pedzisai Ruhanya indicating that Thokozani Khupe’s aligned MDC-T secretary general Mao Nyikadzino is refusing to step down and allow Mwonzora to takeover, the reinstated senator dismissed the claims.

“I am not involved in any tiff with anyone as I am simply following the court ruling which is clear. I do not think Doctor Ruhanya is still a credible source of information because lately he has been acting rabidly and unscientific as he peddles petty issues which I will not waste my time on,” he said.

However, journalist Hopewell Chin’ono says Chamisa currently stands between a rock and a hard place saying it will be difficult bordering on impossible for the MDC-T and indeed Chamisa and his alliance partners to talk about return to constitutionalism as a campaigning tool when they themselves have failed that test dismally.
