ZANU PF says opposition elements have no say on the land issue as they are the ones who previously opposed the exercise which was meant to correct past injustices.

Addressing the Zanu PF Mashonaland East Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Marondera, Zanu PF Acting Spokesperson, Patrick Chinamasa and war veterans spokesperson, Douglas Mahiya dismissed claims by the opposition that the party wants to reverse the land reform programme.

“As a party we are the ones who went to war to fight for the land so no one can come and teach us on the land issue,” said Cde Chinamasa.
“As war veterans we wonder where the opposition is coming in on the land issue as they are the ones who were opposed to this program,” said Cde Mahiya.

The Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Professor Mthuli Ncube echoed the same sentiments.

“I dont even know where those people got the information that the government want to reverse the land reform program that is utter rubbish which we all dismiss,” he said Mashonaland East Zanu PF Provincial Chairperson, Joel Biggie Matiza also weighed in saying the party supports government decision on the land issue.

“As Mashonaland East province, we are fully behind governments decision to adhere to the constitution on the land issue which is not reversible,” he said The Government signed the global compensation agreement meant to address the land issue in a way consistent with the countrys constitution.
