Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says suspected Guruve serial killer Anymore Zvitsva (33) is facing 12 charges: eight counts of murder, two counts of rape, and two counts of attempted murder.
In a statement, the NPA said the offences were allegedly committed between April 2024 and December 2025 in Guruve, Nyakapupu, Mvurwi, Muzura Farm, and surrounding areas. The statement reads:
“Apprehended fugitive, Anymore Zvitsva (33) of Vheremu Village, Chief Chipuriro, Guruve has appeared before the Harare Regional Magistrates’ Court facing 12 charges: eight counts of murder, two counts of rape and two counts of attempted murder.
“The accused person was arrested on the 3rd of January 2026, with offences allegedly committed between April 2024 and December 2025 across Guruve, Nyakapupu, Mvurwi, Muzura Farm and nearby areas.
“The State accuses him of violent home invasions using weapons such as snare wire, iron rods, knives, spears, poison and machetes, resulting in multiple fatalities, including entire households.
“Victims were allegedly raped, murdered and in some cases dumped, hanged, or buried in remote areas.
“The rape charges include assaults in front of minors and on a kidnapped victim restrained on a mountain.
“Attempted murder counts involve strangulation and stabbing, including a shopkeeper left unconscious during a robbery.
“The accused person was advised to apply for bail at the High Court. He was remanded to the 19th of January 2026.
“The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe remains committed to protecting communities from violent crime.
“Matters of this gravity will be pursued with firmness to ensure justice for victims and the safety of the public.”
