Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A South African medical doctor, Phophi Ramathuba has said she will send President Emmerson Mnangagwa a bill of all Zimbabweans receiving treatment in her country.
In yet another video making rounds on social media, Ramathuba, a Member of the Executive (MEC) of health for Limpopo Province, repeated that Zimbabweans ought to receive medication in Zimbabwe or Zimbabwe should pay for services rendered to them.
She said she would calculate the costs incurred and send president Mnangagwa the bill. Pindula News presents some of the responses to her remarks:
@ArundelHospital can you settle her bills as well, please? There’s about 100 000 more coming.
Arundel Hospital, run by Sakunda Holdings which is owned by business mogul, Kuda Tagwirei, had pledged to settle the outstanding bill of a Zimbabwean patient whom Dr Ramathuba had refused to discharge.
She is right though! A next-door parent should not be charged with looking after our kids. She’s embarrassing @edmnangagwa and his circus of a government. It’s just a shame that she’s addressing her issues to someone who is in a vulnerable place
Not embarrassing the patients here. She is actually exposing Mnangagwa as an expense to SA, the bigger picture painted already
Arundel hospital, time to stand up. Pick up the bill as you promised.
But is it that Zimbabweans are the only foreigners in S.A….why are we the only ones always under constant attacks
The whole mess should be directed straight to Ed because he is the headquarters of non-functional health ministry.
Pay up Mr president @edmnangagwa or better still appoint a competent health mister to try and improve the situation on home ground!
They’d cry “humiliation of a patient”, SAans mostly those who probably don’t use public health services.
She is politicking and unprofessional. There is no story here.
