Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. HARARE, Nov. 6 (NewsDay Live) – A warrant of arrest has been issued against the son of the late president Robert Gabriel Mugabe, Robert Junior after he failed to appear for his trial on allegations of possession of dangerous drugs.
Robert Junior (33) was initially arrested on October 1, and charged with the unlawful possession of dangerous drugs and is out on a US$300 bail.
Magistrate Lisa Mutendereki issued the warrant after the court orderly called him three times outside the court.
Three witnesses, who were waiting to testify were told by the court that they will be summoned after the accused has been found.
Mugabe was arrested on October 1, at around 0830 am whilst driving a Honda Fit along Sam Nujoma Street extension road.
The police conducted a search,which led to the recovery of two sachets of dagga, a packet of Rizla rolling papers and a dagga crusher from his car.
The seized dagga weighed two grams with a street value of USD30.
