Safari, tour and conservancy operators donate towards Covid-19 fight

The COVID-19 fight in Matabeleland North has received a major boost after Safari, Tour and Conservancy operators donated an array of materials to be used in tackling the pandemic in the province.

Despite being one of the hardest-hit sectors by the pandemic, the hospitality and tourism sector has managed to give a hand in the COVID-19 fight in Matabeleland North province.

Painted Dog Conservancy in Hwange handed over personal protective equipment items which include gloves, masks, aprons, sanitisers, thermometers and theatre caps and over-shoes.
“…we also want to fight this pandemic and in our own way we thought this would be important…,” said Chief Dingani – Painted Dog Conservancy.

Health workers also expressed gratitude to the gesture saying as frontline workers, the equipment is needed on a day to day basis.

“… As front line workers this is important. We are very grateful…,” said Dr. Muronzi – Health Centres Representative.
Matabeleland North Minister of State Honourable Richard Moyo said such efforts reflect the unity of purpose in times of adversity.

“…this has demonstrated that together we can win if we join hands…,” HON RICHARD MOYO – MAT NORTH MINISTER OF STATEThe resident minister also led a delegation to tour the centre designated for isolation purposes in Victoria Falls. In the process, he also commissioned buses for the Public Service Commission.
