Scotland-based midfielder arrives in Zim for Afcon qualifiers

Scotland-based attacking midfielder Matifadza Zata has arrived in the country for the Young Warriors’ back-to-back U23 Afcon qualifiers against Mozambique this week.

The 18-year-old who plays for Tayport FC on loan from Dundee United touched down in Harare this afternoon and will join the rest of the team on Monday along with other foreign-based players named in the provisional squad.

Those based in Zimbabwe are already in camp except for three Harare City players who will also move in tomorrow.

The Young Warriors will start off with an away game in Maputo on the 22nd of March before hosting their neighbours at National Sports Stadium four days later.
