Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) has granted Community Radio Broadcasting Licences to six community-based stations.
The newly licensed stations are Chivi Community Radio Station (Chivi), Chomazumba Community Radio Station (UMP), Dande FM (Dande), Jakata FM (Gutu), Ndera FM (Marondera), and Nhimbe FM (Makoni).
BAZ Acting Chief Executive Officer, Matthias Chakanyuka, said the licences represent an important step in empowering communities to tell their own stories, preserve local cultures, and engage meaningfully in national discussions.
He added that BAZ remains committed to expanding access to information, promoting local content production, and supporting media diversity across Zimbabwe.
