Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has revealed the identities of five (5) of out the six (6) victims of a fatal road traffic accident that occurred at the 5-kilometre peg along Mvuma – Gweru Road on the 9th of April 2023.
In a statement, ZRP national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the victims were positively identified by their next of kin. The names of the deceased are as follows:
The accident at around 11 PM when a Mercedes Benz Sprinter with 24 passengers on board side swiped with a UD truck carrying 31 passengers.
Police said the truck driver did not stop after the accident and was involved in another accident at the 192-kilometre peg along Harare-Masvingo Road.
The truck veered off the road resulting in the injury of three passengers aboard the truck.
