Supreme Court Judge Feliciah Chatukuta Dies Aged 63

Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Supreme Court Judge Justice Feliciah Chatukuta has died at the age of 63. She passed away in Harare on Saturday, 22 November 2025, reportedly following a cardiac arrest.

In a statement, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) said Chief Justice Luke Malaba and the wider judiciary had extended their deepest condolences on the passing of Justice Chatukuta. Part of the statement reads:

“The Chief Justice of Zimbabwe and Chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission, Hon. Justice Luke Malaba; the Judicial Service Commissioners; the Senior Judge of the Supreme Court; Judges and Magistrates; the Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission; and all members of the Judicial Service would like to express deepest condolences to the Chatukuta family on the passing on of Supreme Court Judge Honourable Justice Feliciah Chatukuta in Harare on Saturday 22 November 2025.”

Justice Chatukuta was appointed a Judge of the High Court on 29 August 2005, serving in that role for 16 years before her elevation to the Supreme Court on 3 June 2021.

She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) in 1985 and went on to work as a Public Prosecutor, a part-time lecturer at UZ, and as a director at the Legal Aid Directorate.
