Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The suspected Guruve serial killer, Anymore Zvitsva, who was arrested on Saturday, 3 January, has reportedly confessed to carrying out some of the murders that shook the district towards the end of 2025.
Zvitsva, also known as Modho, was arrested after a dramatic weeks-long manhunt involving security forces and local villagers.
Police said he was shot in the left leg while being flushed out of hiding in a garden, bringing an end to a pursuit that had gripped Guruve since December. He is now receiving medical treatment under police guard at a local hospital.
In a video that circulated on social media on Saturday, Zvitsva, who was in police custody, is heard admitting to five murders.
He claimed he killed “only” five people, including his aunt, saying he targeted them because they were talking about him. He denied working with anyone else, insisting he acted alone.
Zvitsva also dismissed reports that he killed 12 people, saying he was surprised to hear he had been linked to other deaths beyond the five he admitted to. He further denied raping any of the victims.
