Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Police in Gokwe have arrested two men from Mqulu Village, under Chief Mkoka in Gokwe South District, for attempted murder.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the arrests on Friday, saying Methulise Sibanda (36) and Dingani Maziyonge are in custody, while seven of their alleged accomplices remain at large.
The suspects reportedly attacked the victim using machetes, axes and logs following a dispute over stolen donkeys. The police said:
“Police in Gokwe arrested Methulise Sibanda (36) and Dingani Maziyonge in connection with a case of attempted murder which occurred at Mqulu Village, Chief Mkoka, Gokwe South on 29/12/25.
“The suspects, along with seven others still at large, allegedly attacked the complainant with machetes, axes and logs.
“The incident follows accusations by the complainant against one of the suspects, Milton Moyo, for stealing 17 donkeys, which were subsequently recovered.
“During the violent confrontation, the suspects reportedly forcibly took back the recovered donkeys.
“The other suspects are Brigton Sibanda, Prosper Moyo, Ndabezihle Ndlovu, Casper Sibanda, Pry Ncube and Trust Ncube.”
