Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Journalist Costa Nkomo, a journalist with NewZimbabwe.com, who had been reported missing, had been in Bindura for prayers all along.
ZimLive reports that Nkomo is safe.
No one knew Nkomo’s whereabouts, his family was saying they were clueless adding that they had last spoke to him early morning on New Year Day.
While friends revealed their joy after reports which say he has been found, some said his disappearance was a cool thing. One Twitter user said:
For someone who is a journalist this guy should have a deeper appreciation of communication. Most of us were thinking about the worst.
An anonymous Zimbabwean doctor who uses Skilled Rebhara on Twitter said Costa’s story might be difficult to believe if it was his first time to disappear “for prayers.” He said:
I opened my Twitter account ndaona [i saw] story ye [of] the guy who went for prayers for 3 days I can only say this. Human beings are creatures of habit. So the question is aimbozviita here [has he done that before]. Kana answer iri [if the answer is] no, it’s suspicious.
Costa Nkomo’s disappearance had triggered fear that something bad had happened to him after some journalists had previously reported that they had been kidnapped and tortured by suspected state security agents.
