US$400 Million Cancer Equipment Contract Goes To Chivayo-Associated Company

Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A company reportedly linked to Wicknell Chivayo, a known associate of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has secured a procurement contract valued at over US$400 million with the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC).
The agreement involves the supply of cancer treatment equipment to the Zimbabwean government.
The detailed contract outlines an annual total payment of US$109,320,600.00 (One Hundred and Nine Million Three Hundred and Twenty Thousand Six Hundred United States Dollars) to TTM Global Medical Exports (PTY) Limited over the duration of the agreement.
This latest deal adds to a series of state contracts and tenders Chivayo has reportedly acquired across various key sectors.
The payment terms for this agreement include an initial advance deposit of US$52,500,000.00 (Fifty-Two Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars).
The upfront payment, intended for the supplier’s mobilisation and execution of obligations, was due within 14 days from the contract’s signature date in March 2025.
Following the initial deposit, the remaining balance is structured into consistent monthly instalments of US$9,110,050.00 (Nine Million One Hundred and Ten Thousand and Fifty United States Dollars).
These monthly payments commenced on April 30, 2025, and are scheduled for the last day of each subsequent month through March 2026 for the first year.
The payment structure is set to be replicated annually for the remainder of the three-year contract, ensuring full settlement within a forty-eight-month period.
All financial transactions will be conducted via electronic funds transfer (EFT) in United States Dollars to the supplier’s designated bank account.
Over the past year, Chivayo has garnered public attention not only for his alleged acquisition of state contracts but also for his lavish spending, which has included purchasing luxury vehicles for local celebrities.
His reported ventures in the health sector, through this latest deal, follow previous engagements in diverse areas such as energy, defence procurement, construction, transport, internet services, and election-related agreements.
These contracts are understood to have collectively generated hundreds of millions of dollars in hard currency for his various business interests.
