Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A member of ZANU PF’s Central Committee, John Nhambura is alleged to have threatened Mvurwi police over the arrest of three Mvurwi town council officials who are facing fraud charges.
It is alleged that Nhamburo who reportedly owns several stands in Mazowe, demanded the trio’s release saying their arrest will have an adverse impact on the image of the party.
Bulawayo24 reports that Nhamburo sent a high-powered delegation to Mvurwi police station on Friday with the mandate to influence the release of the trio. Speaking to Bulawayo24, an anonymous junior police officer said:
