ZERA Responds To Questions Over US$191,000 IT Equipment Deal

Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has responded to public interest surrounding its recent purchase of IT equipment.Zimbabwean tourism

This follows the publication of an award notice by the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ), which reveals the details of the procurement.

In a statement, ZERA confirmed that the contract is worth US$191,679.50 and includes the supply of 50 Core i7 laptops, 50 Core i5 laptops, and 10 All-in-One desktops.According to ZERA, the prices per unit are US$2,019.23 for the Core i7 laptops, US$1,505.13 for the Core i5 models, and US$1,546.15 for the desktops.

The regulator also detailed the procurement procedure, highlighting a structured timeline.

ZERA said that once the contract is finalised, a purchase order will be issued. The supplier is expected to submit an invoice within three working days, after which ZERA will respond with approval within another three working days. Delivery of the equipment is expected within 14 working days of this approval, and payment will be processed within three working days following successful delivery.

To help manage its budget and ensure smooth service delivery, ZERA said the procurement and payment will be spread over a 12-month period. ZERA added:

ZERA affirms its commitment to procedures outlined in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act [Chapter 22:23].
