Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. JEMUSSE Zhemba was crowned champion of the LuckyBets Chess Tournament held this past Saturday, dominating the field to claim the gold medal in a thrilling day of competition at the Harare Club Hotel.

The well-organised event brought together numerous enthusiastic players for an intense display of strategic chess.

The tournament kicked off promptly at 9am and ran until 4pm, featuring several rounds of fierce and closely contested play.

Despite the large number of participants, the competition was exceptionally high, with players showcasing remarkable focus, creativity, and sportsmanship throughout the day.

After the final round, Zhemba stood alone at the top, securing a commanding victory with 6 points.

The battle for the remaining podium spots was incredibly tight:

Among the female players, Linda Shaba and Tatenda Ndou put on a strong showing in the open field, both finishing with a respectable 4 points to earn special recognition as the top-performing ladies.

The event was strongly supported by the title sponsor, LuckyBets.
