Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A Zimbabwe-bound Mzansi Express bus was involved in a fatal accident early Tuesday after colliding with a stationary pick-up truck on the N1 highway near Musina, South Africa.
Reports suggest that the bus, which had departed from Johannesburg, veered into the oncoming lane after hitting the pick-up truck. It then side-swiped the trailer of a haulage truck, whose driver had to take evasive action to avoid a head-on collision.
The right side of the bus suffered extensive damage in the crash.
Eyewitnesses said the stationary pick-up truck had no hazard lights or warning triangles placed on the road, giving the bus driver no warning of the obstruction.
