Zimbabwe’s tourism sector has received yet another positive endorsement after being listed among the top ten best safari destinations according to the latest rankings.
The country’s excellence in the safari industry and wildlife conservation have not gone unnoticed as the recent 2019 Safaribookings.com ratings saw Zimbabwe being listed among the top ten safari countries in Africa.
Safaribookings.com is the world’s largest and leading authority for planning an African safari.
Botswana was crowned the best safari country followed by Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe but according to the Sarafibookings.com, when broken down the results show that, there was a strong preference for Zimbabwe among safari-goers.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) Corporate Communications Manager Godfrey Koti noted that the endorsement is clear testimony of the confidence that the safari-goers have in Zimbabwe.
“This speaks volume of the confidence that the global travel and tourism industry has in Zimbabwe. It also means that we are growing as a destination,”said Koti.
Home to one of the largest game reserve areas in the world, the Hwange National Park and Mana Pools which is one of the prime sites for wildlife watching, the country has remained a must visit destination for many adventure travelers.
The safari industry which is one of the major foreign currency earners for the domestic economy continues on a steady rebound with expectations that the subsector will contribute to the targeted seven billion US dollar tourism sector by 2030.
