Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The Ministry of Health and Child Care has reported that Zimbabwe recorded 151 deaths linked to malaria between January and October 2022.

The 2022 cumulative cases of Malaria stand at 92 310 as of October.

In its Weekly Diseases Surveillance report for the period 17 to 23 October, the ministry also said Zimbabwe recorded 1 650 malaria cases and 4 malaria deaths during the same week.

The report also stated that Mashonaland East and Mashonaland Central Provinces, in that order, recorded 658 and 457 cases which are the highest in the land.

Meanwhile, the deaths were from Murewa District (2), Guruve District (1) and Harare (1).

The ministry also reported that 12.7 % of the reported cases, were from the under 5-year-olds category.
