Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Harare has recorded 8 COVID-19 deaths over the last 7 days. This was reported by the Ministry of Health which posted in an update on the progression of the virus in Zimbabwe on 27 December that all the 8 deaths which were recorded in the last 7 days were from Harare.
The update stated that:
The 8 deaths are all community deaths from Harare and they occured over the last 7 days.
The same update stated that the country recorded 114 local cases yesterday. This comes after South Africa which is believed to have a new COVID-19 variant – known as 501.V2 believed to be driving the surge in infections recorded over 10 000 cases every day for the last few days.
