The Police have told the public that they will not be allowed to congregate and gather during the upcoming Christian Easter holiday which is coinciding with the national lockdown imposed by the government to curb spreading COVID-19, Sunday News reports.
This was relayed in a message by ZRP National Spokesperson Assitant Commissioner Paul Nyathi who said:
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is therefore urging all Zimbabweans to observe the Easter Holiday whilst at home with a view of containing the spread of COVID-19. No movement of vehicles or people will be allowed on the country’s roads excerpt those with exemptions.
The Police further warned the public against aimlessly roaming around and breaking lockdown restrictions amid reports that traffic is increasing in CBDs across the country.
