Africa-Press – Angola. The Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, assured this Saturday that the water transfer system from the Cunene River, in the Cafu area, to the towns of Dombondola and Namacunde, marked by major drought problems, will be replicated, in the near future, in the provinces of Huíla and Namibe, with a view to alleviating the suffering of populations and livestock, devastated by the same vicissitudes.

Bornito de Sousa, who was speaking at the end of the two-day working visit to Cunene province, said that the Cafu project came to solve the problem of lack of water in several localities in the province, so similar projects are planned in the neighboring provinces of Huíla. and Namibe, which have the same problem of supplying water to populations and livestock. He stated that the project shows that it is possible to do things in a timely manner. “With this project, the Government has fulfilled the slogan according to which President João Loureço is talking and is doing”, he underlined, adding that “it is an example of works in relation to which the President of the Republic evaluated the situation and found a solution for its resolution”.

The Vice-President said that he noted the great satisfaction of representatives of municipalities and traditional authorities with the use of the project.

Bornito de Sousa, who is visiting Cunene for the second time in the guise of Vice-President of the Republic, said that there are projects that are being developed to minimize some difficulties in the Education and Health sectors, with emphasis on the general construction of Ondjiva and others. within the framework of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).

The Vice-President of the Republic said that the visit to the “Rei Mandume Memorial” aims to remind future generations of the struggle developed by Angola and of solidarity with the brother peoples and the realization of what President Agostinho Neto said, that “in Namibia, in Zimbabwe and South Africa is the continuation of our struggle”.
