Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan diplomat Fidelino Peliganga was accredited, this Tuesday, in Asunción, as a non-resident ambassador to Paraguay, having handed over his credentials to the Head of State of that country, Mário Abdo Benítez.
Fidelino Peliganga, ambassador residing in Argentina, delivered the figurative letters to the Paraguayan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Júlio Arriola Ramirez.
According to a press release, the two diplomats guaranteed to strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as leverage cooperation in the most diverse domains.
The delivery of the figurative letters was attended by the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Raul Silvério, the director general for Bilateral Policy, Cynthia Filartiga, and the secretary of the Angolan ambassador, Wilson Figueira.
In addition to a General Agreement on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, Angola and Paraguay also signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of political consultations between both diplomatic sectors.
A joint communiqué signed on 16 June 2008 forms the basis for the start of diplomatic relations between the two States.
Paraguay currently has a set of unique conditions in the South American region, constituting itself as one of the commercial and industrial platforms with the greatest potential for promoting various foreign capital businesses.
