Africa-Press – Angola. The Under-18 National Basketball Pre-Selection starts today, at 7:00 am, in the Main Pavilion of Cidadela, the preparation for the dispute of the African Nations Championship (Afrobasket) of the category, scheduled for the city of Antananarivo, Madagascar, from 1 to 15th of August next.

For this endeavor, 25 players were summoned by coach Apolinário Paquete, who yesterday were concentrated at the headquarters of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), to learn about the preparation program and objectives to be achieved in the continental competition, where the national “five” pursues the conquest of the scepter.

1º de Agosto, with nine players, is the main supplier of the pre-selection, followed by Vila Clotilde, with three, in a list of diversified clubs, with emphasis on a player who plays in Centro Madrid in Spain. Here is the list of players: Andrew Zacarias, Carlos da Mata, Bênção Vungo, Tatiano Muamba, Joel Pinto, Pedro Gomes, Mavinga Afonso and Marcelo João (1st of August), Peleg Pimenta (1st of May of Benguela), Aguinaldo Neto and Anatoli Inácio (Cidade do Kilamba CD), António Nikama Pino (Formigas do Cazenga), Eduardo Simão and Manuel Cunha (Angola Railway), Elton Mangueira and Rai de Morais (Petro de Luanda), Aloísio Andrade and José Nseka (Kwanza Sports Training) , Mário Xavier, Hervé Bilo, Satierf Martins and Paulo Gomes (FC Vila Clotilde), Daniel Lubambaka (Interclube), Ma Dibanza (Amigos de Benguela) and Paulinho Bala (Centro Madrid).

The technical team, led by Apolinário Paquete, is also made up of assistant coaches José Caculo and João Baptista, and physical trainer Bruno Simões. Valdivino Miranda (doctor), Aurora Fernandes (physiotherapist), Daniel Castro (sectionist) are the other members of the technical committee. Cruz Manuel is the coordinator of the National Team, with Heno Cristóvão as his deputy, while Nelson Cange will head the delegation, to be headed by the president of the FAB, José Moniz da Silva.
